Jen

I have been a Health Improvement Specialist for two and half years.

The St Helens Wellbeing Service is a team of superheroes; every day we change someone’s life and I am so proud that I am a part of this.

Best part of the job

I have always worked within health improvement and the best part of my job is seeing people being supported to make changes to improve their health and wellbeing.

My top tip

Learn about yourself, do what makes you happy and surround yourself with people that contribute towards your happiness.

Helen

I’ve been a Health Trainer for 2 years.

Best part of the job

Individuals being proactive in changing their lifestyle and wellbeing and seeing them grow in confidence and developing a sense of achievement.

My top tip

Do what works for you, you know yourself better than anyone!

Debby

I’ve worked as a Health Trainer for 3 and half years.

Best part of the job

Supporting those in my local community to make positive changes in their lives.

My top tip

If life feels overwhelming and decisions are hard to make, get a piece of paper and a pen and make a list. Write down the pros, the cons, what you want, how you could get there and who could help you achieve your goals.

Best part of the job

I love working with like-minded people.  It’s great seeing the enthusiasm of my colleagues, all striving to support the people of St Helens with their health and wellbeing needs. I’ve watched the team grow over these past 14 years, and I’m immensely proud to be part of the team.

My top tip

Denis

I have been with St Helens Wellbeing Service in the role of Health Trainer for almost 2 years. Prior to this I worked in customer facing roles in housing, financial services and social services. This previous experience ensures I provide clients with an individual and client centred service.

The best part of the job

I enjoy working within the community and meeting a broad range of clients. Each client is individual and I like listening to the clients when we meet so we can together identify and build the best plan to support their personal health and wellbeing goals.

My top Tip

Good health is about the mind as well as the body. Staying in good health is important to all members of the community as is learning how to take care of yourself physically and mentally. The Health check team will help support you in identifying local resources and services that can support you in meeting your goals. We also support you in developing your personalised health plan and motivate and support you over a 12 month period.

Sharon

I have been a health Trainer for about 9 years.

Best part of the job

My top tip

Going for a walk everyday will not only keep you fit but will also help with your mental health and well being.
