Baby Friendly venues
Do you own a business in St Helens? Do you have parents and babies visit you?
Baby Friendly is a voluntary scheme, in conjunction with St Helens Wellbeing and St Helens Council, which highlights places in the borough that are welcoming to parents with babies and infants.
By joining the Baby Friendly St Helens Scheme, you will agree to the following commitments:
- To welcome breastfeeding in any public part of your premises
- To display the Baby Friendly sticker to show you belong to the scheme
- To train your staff to make breastfeeding families feel welcome
Why should you join?
Breastfeeding is an important public health issue because it promotes health, prevents disease and helps contribute to reducing health inequalities in both parent and baby. By joining St Helens Baby Welcome, you will be contributing towards this vitally important message.
Families often return to places that make them feel welcomed and comfortable, supporting word of mouth promotion for your venue.
If you are interested in supporting parents with babies, please contact us at chcp.sthelens@nhs.net and we will send you an information pack.
